Where do I begin? Day five of this journey and I am far, far away from my destination. What is this major segway about? I am looking for the blessings, I know they will reveal themselves in due time. They always do.
In this moment, I am sitting on a rooftop terrace of Hotel Namsto, awaiting my first plate of momo’s and enjoying a fresh lemon soda. I know I will survive this ordeal. I am appreciating these wee moments of ease, doing my best to be in the moment, and allow all to unfold.
The sun is shining and my body is absorbing the rays. The air is cool, but the sun is managing to break through the incredibly polluted skies of this city.he sun is shining and my body is absorbing the rays. Ok, it isn’t a sunny beach in Kerala, yet, but I will savour these moments of peace and warmth and continue to surrender to the bigger plan.
The Nepali people have kind hearts, and are so eager to help. Considering the grueling journey to this place, I am grateful for their friendly natures.
The nights here are still very cold. I am not prepared! I arrived with clothing for 38 degrees. The first night was SO cold, no central heating in these parts! I layered up with every piece of clothing I had doubled up the blankets and attempted to get some shut eye.
The following day I thought I must move I have to be warm. Then I asked the fron desk staff if they happened to have a small heater. I got a look like uh, no lol that’s not something they use. BUT, if I wanted to upgrade my room (big $5 a night) I could have a room with an AC/heating unit….that was an easy YES.
I immediately moved into a much nicer room, with heat and two windows. First problem solved. Next, I needed something warm to wear. Breakfast and dinner were served on a rooftop terrace and it was so chilly I couldn’t bear it. So I managed to purchase a very cozy North Face fleece. I wore it most of the time, happily.
So many small blessings, Ask and it is Given:)
Tomorrow, I will go to the Chitya Centre to get my visa photo and submit for my EVisa…then I wait. I arrived on Buddhist New Year, so many places were closed.
I was told that I was very lucky, I’ll take that:))
Onto the next issue my dying phone with no adaptor for Nepal to charge it. I must buy one. Then once again asked at the desk where to do that and voila, the sweet manager pulled one out of the drawer. I was able to use it during my stay.
It’s evening now and I am comfortably sitting on the terrace in my new cozy jacket. Tomorrow, after the visa is submitted I will treat myself to a massage at the Ananda Spa…God knows I need it!
